CCC Missions

MISSIONS

Partnerships Here
If you’re more geared to being a part of what God is doing right here in the Sumter area, check out our local partnerships. Our goal is to come alongside these ministries in an ongoing and supportive way. Whether it’s through building relationships with children at the Crosswell Home or volunteering at the Sumter Pregnancy Center or helping out at United Ministries, or any number of other ministry opportunities, one of our strong desires is that the influence of Jesus reaches our community through the hands and feet of CCC. Sumter should be glad that we’re here!

Partnerships Abroad
Or you may be wired to think far and wide. You want to be a part of seeing people come to Christ from every tongue and tribe. Our global partnerships are selected because these are ministries where CCC can have a continued impact, and where we can serve alongside our mission partners. We do much more than just give financial support.

Partnership Projects
Throughout the year we have short-term projects which are fun and exciting ways to bring aid, relief, and the joy of a relationship with Christ to other people. Check out some of our projects on the inside pages to see ways you might want to plug in.

LOCAL PARTNERS

United Ministries of Sumter
Sumter United Ministries began in 1994 as a united platform for Sumter churches to meet the needs of the elderly, working poor, disabled, and homeless. United Ministries provides crises relief, home repair, a food pantry, a homeless shelter, and a medical clinic.
Ways you can plug in:
  • Volunteer in many of their areas. Just come with a heart to serve. You could serve by answering the phone, working on a construction team, preparing and serving meals, and more.
  • Join in Sumter Restore in June, repairing houses in our area.
How to pray:
  • Pray for United Ministry staff as they work with those in need. Pray for discernment in what to do, compassion for those in need, and wisdom to know how to step in.
  • Pray for funding and material support.

Crosswell Children's Home
CCC is so privileged to partner with the Crosswell Home for Children. Each week we have them as a part of CCC in our children’s and student ministries.
Ways you can plug in:
  • Be a host family and have children sit with you during the service.
  • Come out and volunteer at Crosswell Home.  For any volunteer information, contact Kelly Rowell at krowell@crosswellhome.org.
How to pray:
  • Pray for the many children who are at Crosswell.
  • Pray for their education, their family situations, their futures, and their relationships with Jesus.
  • Pray for the week to week workers at Crosswell. Staffing is a key component for what they do.
Sumter Pregnancy Center
Sumter Pregnancy Center is a pro-life, Christian, non-profit ministry dedicated to helping women make life-affirming choices, saving the lives of pre-born children, instructing new parents, and more.
Ways you can plug in:
  • Donate funds or materials. Visit www.sumterpregnancycenter.com for more information.
  • Volunteers are needed for event support, peer counseling, hosting showers, instructing new parents, and more.
How to pray:
  • Pray for counselors, to be wise and discerning.
  • Pray for funding and material support.
  • Pray for women who come to Sumter Pregnancy Center as they are making choices, and for those who are dealing with scars from previous choices.

GLOBAL PARTNERS

410 Bridge - HAITI
CCC is proud to announce our partnership with 410 Bridge and our new partner in Cercady, Haiti. This will be a long term partnership to work with and serve through missions trips and resources.
We will spend 5 days in Cercady, Haiti, participating in our first trips of several years building a partnership with this community. We will be working with leaders in the community to help carry on a children’s ministry program, work on a water project, and/or work with church leaders to carry on the discipling ministries they have. We also may participate in some home visits and a “day in the life” with a Haitian family. We will emphasize building relationships with our Haitian partners.

Another way we can get involved is with Child Sponsorship. Since we have a direct connection with Cercady, Haiti, when you go on a missions trip with us, you'll have the opportunity to meet the child you sponsor. What an incredible gift to be able to meet them and their family.
Learn more, or sponsor a child directly through 410 Bridge's website.

Operation Christmas Child
As part of Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child, we gather shoeboxes full of Christmas gifts each year to be given in Jesus’ name to children around the world. Stay tuned for deadlines and instructions, then join the fun of being a blessing.
Feed My Starving Children
Crossover
Begun in 1987, Feed My Starving Children has helped provide 1.5 billion meals for starving children around the world. These MannaPack meals cost 22 cents each and are hand-packed by by volunteers with a special formula of rice, soy, veggies and vitamins.
Each August, we gather at the Sumter Civic Center to help package life-giving nutrients to those in need. Since 2014 we have packed more than 800,000 meals which have fed 2,200 children for an entire year. Children in Haiti and Swaziland have received our meals.

Ways you can plug in:
  • Each year, CCC participates in Sumter's food pack event.  The 2017 event was held August 1 and 2.  Check back if you would like to participate in the 2018 event.
  • Donate money to help pay for the food ingredients. Check out their website at www.fmsc.org
How to pray:
  • Pray for those who receive food somewhere around the world. Pray for health and opportunities so they would receive the true Bread of Life.
  • Pray for those who will be packing the meals. In the midst of fun and laughter, pray for a keen awareness of how much we have, and how much others need.
  • Pray for funding and support to come in.
Munther is a missionary we support who serves in Jordan through the ministry of Crossover Communications International. Munther is a church planter, discipler, and trainer of pastors.
Ways you can plug in:
  • Check out what missionaries are doing around the world: www.crossoverusa.org
How to pray:
  • Pray for his work and the church in Jordan.
  • Pray for his funding and support.
  • Pray there would be an openness to the gospel among the many different people groups he ministers to. Pray for their work among the refugees there.
CRU - Campus Crusade for Christ
Courtney Jacobs came to faith in Christ while she was a student here in Sumter. After college, she began work with Campus Crusade for Christ at Miami University in Ohio. CCC is proud to call her one of our own missionaries. CRU on the Miami campus is committed to helping students explore and experience a relationship with Christ.
Ways you can plug in:
  • Email Courtney at courtney.evans@uscm.org and encourage her.
How to pray:
  • Pray for the work of CRU, both on the Miami campus and around the world.
  • Pray for the leadership Courtney provides in both weekly and in seasonal ministry events.
  • Pray for relationships she has developed with students, that they would bear fruit for the Kingdom of Jesus.
  • Pray for her funding and support to come in.
