Drop a rock into a pool and there’s a splash. But there’s much, much more. There are continuing and spreading results. That’s THE RIPPLE EFFECT.
As we are currently walking through our series on Sunday mornings, The Kingdom, with great excitement we introduce The Ripple Effect: A Kingdom Invitation. This endeavor helps us keep aligning our work at CCC with the great value and impact of the kingdom of Jesus, growing it right here in Sumter, and around the world. In 2001, a handful of families began Christ Community Church because Jesus had significantly impacted their lives, and they desired for that change to spread out to others – that’s The Ripple Effect. We sit today in the aftermath of what God has done through that decision. In 2015, the leadership at CCC felt called to urge us to move forward and take on the faith-filled task of building the facility in which we currently reside. We moved into our current building at the end of 2015, and God grew His church through it. |
The Ripple Effect continued, and our student ministry outgrew its space. God worked, and the faithful people of CCC responded to the invitation to both serve and give. We expanded our youth building, The Shed, in 2019, and the addition has provided much needed space for our growing student ministry, as well as a much-used venue for many of our adult ministries. Again, The Ripple Effect spread. His blessings on that venture propelled us in growth leading all the way up to where we are now.
Those aren’t just numbers; they’re people, many of whom have grown deeply in their own relationship with the Lord, inviting others to come along with them. Our facilities enabled us to have environments where we grew not only in our reach, but also in our depth. Currently we have more growth, and some needs attached. Our CCC Kids ministry currently meets divided between our Kid’s and Student ministry buildings, and our buildings are regularly maxed out with Life Groups as well as our men’s and women’s ministries. As the ripples expand, we are now launching another capital fundraising campaign to help facilitate more growth for the Kingdom of Jesus. It’s HIS kingdom and HIS growth that we seek, and it’s our response to do what we sense Him asking to have those ripples keep moving. Here’s our project: The Ripple Effect: A Kingdom Invitation. |
