GIVE TO THE RIPPLE EFFECT CAMPAIGN

CAMPAIGN UPDATE

In our Ripple Effect campaign to raise funds for explanation here and our church plant in Camden, we’re very close to being able to make a decision. If you’ve not committed through a Covenant Card, we’d love your involvement. Pick up at the church office, Welcome Center this Sunday, or submit a digital covenant card below.
Please continue to pray as we walk through the next steps of this campaign. We can’t do this alone, and we are so thankful for everyone who makes this church so special!

Drop a rock into a pool and there’s a splash. But there’s much, much more. There are continuing and spreading results. That’s THE RIPPLE EFFECT.

As we are currently walking through our series on Sunday mornings, The Kingdom, with great excitement we introduce The Ripple Effect: A Kingdom Invitation. This endeavor helps us keep aligning our work at CCC with the great value and impact of the kingdom of Jesus, growing it right here in Sumter, and around the world.

In 2001, a handful of families began Christ Community Church because Jesus had significantly impacted their lives, and they desired for that change to spread out to others – that’s The Ripple Effect. We sit today in the aftermath of what God has done through that decision.

In 2015, the leadership at CCC felt called to urge us to move forward and take on the faith-filled task of building the facility in which we currently reside. We moved into our current building at the end of 2015, and God grew His church through it.

The Ripple Effect continued, and our student ministry outgrew its space. God worked, and the faithful people of CCC responded to the invitation to both serve and give. We expanded our youth building, The Shed, in 2019, and the addition has provided much needed space for our growing student ministry, as well as a much-used venue for many of our adult ministries. Again, The Ripple Effect spread. His blessings on that venture propelled us in growth leading all the way up to where we are now.

Those aren’t just numbers; they’re people, many of whom have grown deeply in their own relationship with the Lord, inviting others to come along with them. Our facilities enabled us to have environments where we grew not only in our reach, but also in our depth.

Currently we have more growth, and some needs attached. Our CCC Kids ministry currently meets divided between our Kid’s and Student ministry buildings, and our buildings are regularly maxed out with Life Groups as well as our men’s and women’s ministries.

As the ripples expand, we are now launching another capital fundraising campaign to help facilitate more growth for the Kingdom of Jesus. It’s HIS kingdom and HIS growth that we seek, and it’s our response to do what we sense Him asking to have those ripples keep moving. Here’s our project:

The Ripple Effect: A Kingdom Invitation.

CCC Kid’s Expansion

This will put Kids ministry back under one roof. When our current facility was planned and built in 2015, we knew our Kid’s space was not as big as we wanted. As so much of our church growth has been young families, our space needs have been stretched. We’ll be adding on to the back of ½ of our Kid’s ministry area, giving us 4 large rooms (with bathrooms), and a storage area.

Life Group Space
This expansion also gives more options for Life Group space. Many of our Life Groups are of a size that makes it difficult to meet in homes, therefore many groups look for space at the church. At least two of the rooms in our Kids’ area will be able to be used throughout the week for Life Groups.
CCC Camden Funding
Last year when we finalized plans for planting Christ Community Church Camden, our strategy included partial funding of this new church. As they grow more and more self-sustaining, our funding will pull back and they will be an autonomous church. We had planned all along to raise funds for this adventure, as we are doing now in The Ripple Effect. 10% of funds raised will be used as seed money to help facilitate this already growing church plant in Camden.

Retirement Of Debt
After the above needs are met, we will joyfully use the remainder to reduce our current low-interest debt.

1. Prayerfully consider what the Lord is asking you to sacrificially and generously give.
2. Giving to The Ripple Effect should be above your regular sacrificial giving to CCC.
3. Covenant Card turned in (or filled out online) by Sunday, February 11.

Can you give me an idea of what to give?
There are approximately 2,000 people (adults and children) who call CCC their church home and who come at least monthly. If EVERY person in that 2,000 were to pledge and give $750 over 3 years (roughly $5 per week per person), we would raise the desired $1,500,000. If each of those 2,000 people pledged gave $1,250 over that same 3-year period ($8 per week), we would not only raise all these funds, but also wipe out our current debt! We certainly recognize that some people will give less, and some people will give more. Again, our Spirit-led desire is sacrificial and generous giving, which looks different on different people.

What about my other giving to CCC?
Our current budget fueled by your generosity covers current operational expenses. Therefore, any current giving that would just be reallocated to our The Ripple Effect campaign would effectively decrease what we can currently do in ministry. We are asking that all giving to this campaign be above what you currently give.
I won’t even be here when the campaign is over.
Why should I still give?

Many of our families will move before the 3 years are completed. Giving can be one-time, annually, and for whatever duration. If construction is undertaken, we hope to be in this building by late ’24, not simply at the end of the 3 years.
Picture
Why take on debt?
In 2015, our leadership deemed it was God’s leading for us to build our current space, taking on debt to do so. The last 8 years have shown that most of us at CCC have come within this time, at least partly because CCC had her own space in which to gather, all throughout the week. We are willing to take on debt because we have seen the faithfulness of God and His people, and because the needs are right now. We have never taken on debt for operations but are willing to take on debt for facilities.
Why a Covenant Card?
(Can’t I just give without turning in a card?) Covenant Cards help us see what we can count on moving forward, which helps us determine if this is a step we can take. “Can we do this?” Your Covenant Card helps us answer that.

  • Commit your tax refund check each year, or part of it.

  • Skip a meal each week, use that time praying or serving others or reading Scripture, invest the money saved into The Ripple Effect.

  • Getting a bonus or a raise? Invest that into The Ripple Effect to help continue God’s work here.

  • Use a variety of means to cut costs, and invest that money into The Ripple Effect. For example, drink water when eating out, cut your cable service back, go on a shorter vacation or trim amenities, postpone that major purchase... Saving $10 per week accumulates almost $1,600 in three years.
