Community is our Calling

Our city is where we love to serve.
Community Teams are those which help us reach and serve our Community.

COMMUNITY TEAMS

We the people of CCC love our community, both globally and locally. And we don’t just love in words or sentiment, we love with action. The challenge and call to all of us is to find ways to be a blessing to those around us, and around the world. You will find here various ways we dream of making a difference. All of these are locally minded, meaning you won’t need to travel to serve. Make a choice. Pick an area. Be like a kid on the candy aisle with so many options to choose from. So be praying how you best fit.
Make your choice. And then enjoy!

Adopt a Fire Station
Help us serve some of our finest - a group of first responders. We’ll develop ways to encourage, serve, support, and bless our firefighters.

Cherryvale Elementary
Come alongside students and faculty at Cherryvale Elementary to provide much needed school supplies, tutoring, supervision for field trips, teacher appreciation surprises, and more.

Crosswell Children’s Home
We have the rich privilege of having children who live at the Crosswell Home join us each Sunday. Come alongside the staff at Crosswell in meeting the needs of children in so many ways.

Disaster Emergency Relief
Be on a team to develop and carry out a plan for providing emergency aid and relief when disasters hit our area, or areas near to us.

Feed My Starving Children
Be a part of the team that helps put on a two-day event to provide specially packed meals for malnourished children, to be sent to more than 70 countries. This year's MobilePack event was held August 1-2 at the Sumter County Civic Center.  Check back for information regarding the 2018 event. Questions? Contact Missy Reese

House Repair
Help do repair work on homes. May include building or repairing ramps, doing minor electrical, roofing, carpentry, etc.

Kirkland Prison Ministry
Be part of a small team of men who go monthly on a Wednesday morning to Kirkland Prison in Columbia. Even if you’d rather not speak, your presence means the world to these guys.

The Community Garden
We have a garden on the church property with everything from roses to herbs to corn.  We have a lot of fun working the garden and sharing the bounty.

Outreach to Military
We’re blessed to have both Air Force and Army here. Help support them and serve their families thorough care for deployed spouses, care packages, and more.

Sumter Athletes
How would you like to mentor a teen who does not have a father in the home? We would love to have men to partner with some of our local school coaches, invest in 15-18 year olds, and share the love of Jesus with these student athletes.

Sumter Pregnancy Center
Join in helping young mothers walk through their pregnancies, celebrating with them in their training and preparation, assisting in administrative details, hosting baby showers, being a prayer partner, etc.

United Ministries
Help CCC better come alongside Sumter United Ministries in their work to provide relief to struggling families and help them get back on their feet. May include work in medical clinic, financial counseling, etc.

United Ministries Free Clinic
The Free Clinic serves working adults who don’t qualify for Medicaid or don’t have enough health coverage, or those moving through the homeless shelter. Help is needed by those with medical experience, administrative experience, and those who could visit and pray with patients.

Willow Drive Elementary
Come alongside students and faculty at Willow Drive Elementary to provide much needed school supplies, tutoring, supervision for field trips, teacher appreciation surprises, and more.
