Christ Community Church is passionate about God’s glory and the people of our community. In fact, our passion for people could be described best by saying that we desire to see people:

“Exchange ordinary living for an extraordinary life!”

We believe the people of our community are tired of living an ordinary life. They are looking for excitement, meaning, and significance in this life and we believe that a personal relationship with Jesus is the answer.

Here are some interesting statistics about Sumter:

• There are 19,344 children under the age of 11. This age group    represents 18.3 % of the total population in Sumter County.

• There are 29,334 children and teenagers under the age of 17. This    group represents 28% of the total population in Sumter County.

• When parents of the above demographic are considered, data projects    that there are 41,648 adults between the ages of 24-44. What all this    means is that there are 70,982 people in Sumter County under the    age of 44.

The significance of these statistics is that the above group as a whole represents 80% of Sumter County’s total population. Statistics also tell us that 70% of Sumter is unchurched. Well, what does all of this mean? It means that there are 56,000 people under the age of 44 that are not in church anywhere on a consistent basis.

Why, you might ask? Because for the most part, they believe church is boring, irrelevant, and impersonal. At Christ Community Church, we hope to change that mentality by offering our community ministries that are excellent, exciting, relevant, and highly personal. Not since the New Testament Church began in the 1st Century has there been a greater opportunity for the church to make a difference in people’s lives than in our culture today. At Christ Community Church, we want to seize this opportunity and introduce our unchurched community to an extraordinary life of excitement, meaning, and significance – a life that is found in Jesus Christ!
