What kind of church is Christ Community Church?
Christ Community Church is a fellowship of believers that exists to worship God, equip believers, and serve our community. We are a church that is concerned about who you are and where you are going! We are committed to serving the Sumter community through excellent ministries that are creative, fresh, and relative to your needs. We are intentionally nondenominational, believing that meaning and significance in life hinge on “Who” you belong to – not “what” you are affiliated with. We are a church that is passionate about unity and we strive to welcome anyone with open arms – regardless of where you have been and what denominational background you may come from.

What should I wear when I visit/attend Christ Community Church?

Christ Community Church is much more concerned with who you are and where you are going, then with what your wardrobe looks like. We are a casual fellowship of believers who wear a wide variety of styles. We encourage you to wear whatever you feel most comfortable worshipping in. If that’s a pair of shorts and a t-shirt…come on! If that is a dress and high heels…come on. All in all, we want you to feel comfortable.

Will I be asked to give money?

NO! If you are visiting with us, whether it’s your first time or fifth, we do not want you to feel obligated to give. Our worship service is our gift to you. At Christ Community Church, we believe it is a privilege to give back to God that which He has entrusted to our care. You are welcome to give as you feel led, but rest assured that you will never feel pressured to do so.

Will there be an opportunity for my children to worship and learn about Jesus?
ABSOLUTELY! We are committed to providing your child with an exciting, quality experience in a safe and friendly environment while you worship. Our volunteer staff are passionate about children and believe that an excellent ministry to children is more than just child care! An excellent ministry to children takes seriously the ability children have at a very young age to learn about the life-changing truths in the Bible. Entrusting your child into the hands of another person is a serious issue all parents have. We know that and we are committed to offering your child an environment of love, spiritual encouragement, and physical and emotional safety!

How is Christ Community Church led?
Christ Community Church is first and foremost led by the greatest leader the world has ever known – Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus sent His Spirit – the Holy Spirit – to represent His presence in the church and to lead her in every aspect of worship and service. As a fellowship of believers, we are passionate about submitting our lives to the Lordship of Jesus and allowing His mighty Spirit to guide our steps. Under the authority of the Holy Spirit, we are a church that is led by a “plurality of elders.” Our pastor serves as the Teaching Elder alongside four other men who meet the specific qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. The primary responsibilities of the elders is to provide spiritual leadership for the church through serving the fellowship of believers, teaching God’s Word, and praying diligently for the church’s purity, unity, and spiritual and numerical growth.

How do you become a member of Christ Community Church?
We believe membership in the body of Christ is a scriptural command and should therefore be taken seriously. In order to insure the purity and unity of the church, a person desiring membership must meet the following four requirements: (1) A person must demonstrate a life that has been committed to Jesus Christ, (2) A person must be willing to follow believers baptism by immersion if they have not already done so, (3) A person must attend and complete CCC’s “Discovering Membership Class” which is offered several times throughout the year, and (4) A person must be willing to sign CCC’s Membership Covenant.
