Our Values
Our Core Values

Values are those principles that define the character and personality of the church. The core values of Christ Community Church will define our character and set in motion our strategy for engaging our community for Christ. These values will create an uncompromised identity that will never change; but will welcome new and creative strategies for ministry that intersect the “pressure points” of our culture.

In the practice of acupuncture, meridians are those pressure points where stress, anxiety, and tension exist. Relief is offered to a person as needles strategically intersect these pressure points. Using this metaphor, Christ Community Church exists to engage Sumter by strategically identifying and intersecting the spiritual, physical, and social pressure points of our community with the purpose of witnessing the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Our core values are based upon this calling and thus are represented through the meridian acronym.

MATURITY
We are committed to providing a safe environment where every person will be led into a fully devoted relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that God’s purpose for the church is to lead every believer into a mature relationship with Christ through (1) intimate fellowship, (2) passionate worship, (3) relevant Bible study, (4) personal ministry, and (5) community outreach.

"We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ."
Colossians 1:28

EXCELLENCE
We are committed to engaging our community for Christ with ministries that are synonymous with quality and excellence. We believe that God is perfect and therefore calls us to present His church and ourselves in a manner that testifies to His perfection.

"Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve."
Colossians 3:23-24

RELEVANT
We are committed to providing culturally relevant ministries that offer biblical answers to the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of our community.

"The men of Issachar understood the times and knew
what Israel should do."
1 Chronicles 12:32

INFLUENCE
We are committed to influencing our community for Christ by strategically targeting our ministries toward the unchurched and nominal Christians. We believe that God is passionate about the spiritual condition of every person and therefore established the church to introduce them to the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the earth."
Matthew 28:19-20

DIVERSITY
We are committed to engaging and ministering to the whole of our community. We believe that Jesus died for people of every ethnic group, race, and color and therefore desires the church to be a witness to them all.

"And they sang a new song, saying 'Worthy are You to take the book and break its seals; for You we slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation."
Revelation 5:9

INTERCESSION
We are committed to the power of prayer and the strategic role it will play in engaging our community for Christ. We believe that the faithful prayers of God’s church empowers the Holy Spirit to work through us to change lives.

"And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered was shaken, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the Word of God with boldness."
Acts 4:30

AUTHORITY
We are committed to functioning under the perfect authority of God’s Word. We believe the Bible is the perfect revelation of God and therefore is without error and provides timeless and relevant truths that will equip the church in fulfilling our ministry to the community.

"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16-17

NURTURE
We are committed to being a church where broken lives are mended by love, acceptance, hope, forgiveness, and guidance with a spirit of encouragement.

"Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another with honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality."
Romans 12:10-13

SERVICE
We are committed to engaging our community through acts of genuine service. We believe that Jesus exemplified servanthood and therefore desires for His church to emulate His attitude.

"Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant…"
Philippians 2:5-7

STEWARDSHIP
We are committed to managing God’s resources in manner that projects integrity, honesty, and spiritual values. We believe that everything we have is a blessing from God and ultimately belongs to Him. Therefore, we will always encourage faithfulness in giving as a demonstration of our love and gratitude for what God has done in our lives through Jesus Christ.

"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this, say the Lord of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessings that there will not be room enough to receive it."
Malachi 3:10
