Ben Gaertner joined the Christ Community Church family in August 2006. As a teenager, Ben strongly sensed God’s call to serve God with his life. Ben graduated from Texas A&M University in 2002 with a degree in Speech Communication and a degree minor in Musical Studies. In order to further prepare for ministry, Ben enrolled as a full-time student at Dallas Theological Seminary upon completion of his undergraduate degree.

During his four years in seminary, Ben actively served in the worship ministries of Lakepointe Church in Rockwall, Texas as well as a summer at Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas. In May of 2006, Ben completed his Master of Theology degree (ThM) from DTS.

Ben’s passion in ministry is for people. He loves uniting the people of God in worshipping the One true God. Ben also loves Christ Community Church’s commitment to reaching out in the Sumter Community and reaching people for Christ.

Ben has a wonderful wife Kara and a baby son, Nathan, and twin girls, Kaytie, and Katherine. Ben and Kara were married in 2001 and attended school together at Texas A&M. Kara has a passion for children and taught school for four years, while Ben was studying at DTS. Both Ben and Kara grew up in Texas.
